Our next meeting will be Thursday,
May 15th at 6:30 pm at St. Luke Church, Lightstreet.
This meeting is our annual fundraiser,
the Guild Plant Sale, open to members only. The Herb of the Month will be Chamomile, studied by Valerie E.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks to our April program speaker, Vanessa DeVett, owner of The Petite Garden, Mifflinburg. We learned about growing microgreens and compared a variety in a tasting activity with the Guild.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please arrive early if you are donating plants to
our Plant Sale so the committee has time to sort.
Be sure to label each with:  Plant Name, Date Potted, Name of Grower and Growing Preferences (Sun/Shade/Watering Frequency).
Questions? Call or email Linda B.

*******************************
Two of our members, Cynthia S and Sally M are presenting a gardening program via Zoom on Thursday, April 17th at 12 noon. They'll be advocating for using native plants and herbs in gardens. The zoom session is through the Women's Giving Circle and their program title is "On the Bright Side". Register by calling 570-752-3930 or visit csgiving.org.
*******************************
Our Program Committee is on the lookout for suggestions for next year's meeting. What would you like to learn about or do you know of an interesting gardener willing to talk to our group? Pass along your ideas to Sally M or Bobbi F.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Attention New Members:
We are asking that every member help with one meeting with refreshments, set up and clean up. Please email Brenda A for refreshment hosts and hostesses (and all committees.) We can have more than six per month for hostessing, - really. And more people makes for a better evening for all.
*
Consider joining the Summer Picnic Committee, Town Park Garden Committee, Christmas Favors Committee, Christmas Party Committee,
Bloomsburg Fair Exhibit Committee and the  Barton House Garden Committee.
We need you to make our activities flow! Email
or call Brenda to add your name to a guild list.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Save your Gardening Magazines and Books and your Children's Storybooks for our Little Library at the Bloomsburg Town Park Herb Garden. Please give them to Tammy D at any meeting. This resource is being used and is a community service project of our club.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Town Park Garden Committee is looking for use of a gas powered edger. We'll take good care of it or you could use it where we point in the garden. You can join us in caring for the garden on the 1st Thurs of the month at 6:30pm or the 3rd Fri at 8am. Just show up with gloves and tools.
Wishlist:  basil, chamomile, pineapple sage, lavender, tarragon, oregano, rosemary, lemon grass, chives, winterberry and juniper.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Guild Bus Trip will be June 25-26, 2025.
We're heading to Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh
via Penn State Arboretum, with stops in between.
See the GardenTrips web page for details.
All About Microgreens
Vanessa D and husband, Doug C, display microgreen starter kits available from The Petite Garden, Mifflinburg.
Sunshine Committee
In need of a little sunshine? If you know someone in our guild that needs cheering up (maybe in the hospital or had a death in the family) or (is getting married or having a milestone birthday), let Brenda know at auckersapiary@verizon.net and she will pass this along to the Sunshine Committee to let our friends know we care.
